DON’T DO DRUGS
Horror is one of my favorite genres of entertainment media. In the right hands there’s virtually no limit on how creatively you can scare the living shit out of your audience.
P.T. was a shining example of horror done right in video games and a though its time was brief it succeeded in inspiring others to put their own spin on the simple but effective premise of being alone in a house.
Blooper Team‘s “Layers of Fear” is a game that takes that premise and runs with it to the extreme.
“Delve deep into the mind of an insane painter and discover the secret of his madness, as you walk through a constantly shifting house.
Heavily inspired by the masterpiece paintings from the past centuries, and the architecture and décor from the XIX century. Layers of Fear is a truly unique experience, where each move of the camera can change your surroundings
Layer by layer uncover the visions, fears and horrors that entwine the protagonist and finish the masterpiece he has strived so long to create.”
You can watch the trailer below and join me in anticipation for the finished product or alternatively if you can’t wait you can buy in to the early access build on Steam. I generally don’t recommend that for single player experiences as I tend to value playing through them with as few bugs as possible but to each their own.
Either way this game looks insane as they tout the house potentially changing with each turn of the camera which could make for some really intriguing gameplay.
